Development
Our current industrial estate in Aldermaston, Berkshire has planning permission approved for five additional industrial units totalling approximately 11,250 sq ft. We plan to start construction in early 2013 with completion by the end of the year.
Over the medium term, the industrial estate naturally lends itself to carefully planned future development. Within the existing industrial curtilage we have land available to the north eastern corner where we aim to obtain planning permission for an estimated additional 15,000 sq ft of industrial space. Our timescale to build this phase of the development will be within the next three to five years.
In addition, we own a land bank of approximately 8.4 acres at Aldermaston, Berkshire which falls just outside our industrial land which, in planning terms is within the designation of countryside. Currently the home to our estate office, we have plans to develop this prime brownfield site in years to come once planning allows.
In addition to developing our existing stock, at Young Estates Ltd we are actively acquiring further land opportunities, whether for residential or industrial, and with or without planning consent. We are also actively seeking to purchase established income-producing industrial estates within the south and midlands area.
